The Active Minds at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (AMMIT) group is established for the
expressed purpose of:
● Increasing the awareness of the students, faculty, and staff at MIT about the following:
○ Issues surrounding mental health
○ Symptoms related to mental health disorders
○ Mental health resources available both on campus and in the surrounding
community
● Reducing stigma surrounding mental health disorders, so that students feel more
comfortable openly discussing mental-health related issues and seeking help when it is
needed,
● Supporting peers to learn the skills and find the resources that they need to increase
healthy coping techniques that promote personal wellness, and
● Providing a forum and building an open environment for all students to speak up about
mental health.

The Purpose of the Addir Interfaith Engagement Association is to promote greater harmony, connection and empathy across the full spectrum of religious, spiritual and philosophical identities within the MIT community and in the world beyond. The word 'addir' is an ancient Sumerian word for bridge, and Addir seeks to build bridges both between individuals who orient around religion differently and between different religious, spiritual and philosophical communities. Addir seeks to promote a council of cooperation, learning, and growth amongst the various religious and secular groups on MIT’s campus. Addir encourages increased understanding of all religious and secular worldviews in the MIT community through an Interfaith Dialogue Fellowship, open events, campaigns and initiatives across campus.

We are MIT's low-time-commitment a cappella group with a focus on fun and nerdy music. We are dedicated to being a lower-time commitment option (with three and a half hours of rehearsal a week instead of six) in order to help members balance a cappella singing with classes and other activities.

Our audition process is open to any interested MIT students. Along with helping members improve their musicality, our group also hosts social activities throughout the semester. Exec transitions are held at the end of each semester.
