The MIT Concert Band is a group of amateur musicians. Participation in the group should provide a sense of enjoyment and enthusiasm in the creation of music. The group should be open to persons of all musical backgrounds and skills, and it should provide a vehicle for developing musical talents in a large ensemble setting. Student members should feel a sense of ownership in the group.
Membership in the MIT Concert Band entitles one to take part in biweekly rehearsals for the improvement of musicianship and community, and to perform with the band at its Halloween, December, and May concerts. Additionally, members may choose to attend the band's annual Tour.
