About Us
The mission of MIT AI Alignment (MAIA) is to raise awareness of the potentially-existential risks posed by advanced AI systems and to assist members of the MIT community in addressing these risks by means including, but not limited to, (i) providing opportunities for members of the MIT community to learn more about these issues, both from a technical and from a governance perspective, (ii) creating an environment for research and debate among members of the MIT community; and (iii) fostering a community of people who share the same concerns about the aforementioned risks.
