The mission of the Hellenic Students' Association (HSA) at MIT is to build a cohesive and supportive community for MIT students of Greek and Cypriot origin. We are MIT’s premiere breakdancing/freestyling crew, founded in 1991. We help to keep breakdancing culture alive on campus and in Cambridge/Boston communities. We actively participate in Boston’s hip-hop scene and work with breakdancing crews and non-profits alike to bring freestyling to as many people as possible. We offer classes on campus, participate in events, and hold public practice sessions and small cyphers for all MIT students and the general public to join.

Members get added to the messenger group chat and mailing list, so they get information on MIT-only practices, and hip-hop and breakdance events happening in Boston. Members also get the opportunity to perform in choreographed sets for MIT events and represent Imobilare in breakdancing jams. Members also get to participate in study breaks and can get reimbursed for jam tickets.

As of Spring 2024, we regularly meet for open practice every Wednesday (7-10pm) and lessons every Thursday (8-9:30pm). The MIT Korean Cultural Association is a cultural club dedicated to creating a community of people who are interested in Korean culture and the Korean language. We mainly organize community events that are intended to bring together these people with mutual interest or curiosity in Korean culture. Some examples of previous events with very large turnout are our Chuseok holiday celebration and Korean Street Food Festival. Both events attracted over 100 people, and our club was able to organize an event where people could come, meet people, and bond over the entertainment and food that was offered at these events. This group is an important part of campus for Korean-American students who want to connect more with their Korean background. This does NOT mean that we are just for Korean people. Anyone is welcome at any of our events, and we welcome anyone who is respectful of Korean culture.
