Calling all aspiring film makers and creative minds at MIT! We are thrilled to unveil an exciting lineup of film production projects set to captivate our campus during this semester. Whether you're an experienced filmmaker or a novice with a passion for storytelling, we invite you to join us on a journey that will harness your creativity, expand your skill set, and foster collaboration.
Additionally, we're still open to more project proposals. If you have any creative filmmaking ideas, you can reach out us at mit-filmmaker-association-officers@mit.edu , and we will help you to find helpers to build up your team and offer FREE equipment rental support!
Ongoing Projects
Project 1: Admissions
Description. Our short film, "Admissions," darkly humorous fly-on-the-wall mockumentary that peels back the layers of university admissions in post-affirmative action America. The project will blend scripted and unscripted moments. We are looking for a crew to help bring this film to life.
Logistics. Shooting in late May (24-27)
Roles.
- AD: Looking for an Assistant Director to help organize during the shoot, including slating, script notes, and coordination with the director on timing of the shoot
- Gaffer: Looking for a Gaffer; equipment appreciated
- Boom Operator/Recordist: Looking for a boom operator who can also record the sound of the film, equipment appreciated
- Grip: looking for a Grip
- PA: Looking for a Production Assistant to assist in miscellaneous tasks such as assisting the unloading and loading of equipment
